Why veterinary medicine?
âI have a very classic story of becoming a veterinarian. I grew up with all kinds of farm animals my entire childhood which started the love of animals. My grandmother worked in mixed animal rural practice of my hometown, where I worked and rode along on farm calls.â
Favorite part of the job?
âMy favorite part of my job is helping our team succeed. I don't get to care for every patient personally anymore, but I get to make sure the people who do have the resources, support, and opportunities they need to provide exceptional care. Watching someone grow in their confidence, take on new challenges, and see the impact they have on our clients and patients is incredibly rewarding. When our team thrives, we're able to fulfill our mission of caring exceptionallyâfor our clients, their pets, our team, and the communities we call home. That's what motivates me every day.â
Get to know Dr. Pope
Dr. Nicholas Pope grew up on a farm in Oklahoma, knowing from an early age that he wanted to be a veterinarian. Inspired by his grandmother, who managed a multi-doctor veterinary clinic in his hometown, Dr. Pope developed a passion for veterinary practice ownership, exceptional patient care, team leadership, and practice management. He now enjoys life in beautiful Hunterdon County, where he lives on a small farm with his wife, Dr. Elizabeth Pope, and their son, Benjamin. Outside of work, Dr. Popeâs life revolves around animals, including a small herd of cows, goats, and chickens. When heâs not at the clinic, you can find him fishing the Raritan, golfing, or simply admiring his cows.
